tmp2.tmp
I found a file in my TEMP folder, called tmp2.tmp and when I try and erase it, it wont let me, and in safe mode I have tried, and it erases it, but comes back when i restart. Then it like hids and makes several folders then they dissapear really fast when i try and erase or get rid of them. this file is responsible for about 20 popups when i log on. i have asaware se, spybots search and destroy, and an up to date anitvirus program, pccillin and they cant do anything to help, any suggestions? i run theses every 2 days, and have never had spyware problems until now.

Then again, You could get it with Internet explorer too.
If you look down the page to the 7th entry under Files, you'll see TMP2.tmp, which is one name for the MY Search hijacker.
This site is only for reference to what the different Directories,Files,Cookies,and Registry Entries it can make.

I think they hook you in and get you to download their software to scan for free and then say it's only $19.95 or (whatever price) to get registered to remove it.

What can I do to remove this? its a weird file, i click on it, and like 3 more instantly form. and they disappear. Please help.
They have people that are exellent at helping you remove these kinds of hijacker trojans.
But everything I've researched on it, tells me it's a little beyond my ability to track down because of all the different variants that it can take.
I'm a member over @ Short-Media too. They are our sistersite so to speak. Our 2 sites go way back. Many of our members here are members there too, or visa versa. I'll keep an eye on your progress with this over there to learn how they attack it.
