I just picked up a new 4400 (it wouldn't run in a friends mobo).
Which drive should I run?
Is there any reason to use one of the new drivers? Will it run any better?

It is a matter of trial and error as to which will work the best with your card. My last vid card was an Abit and I got the most out of it with drivers from Abit than the latest Nvidia offerings and the Abit's fell way back in the line up. Often times the latest drivers will give unsatisfactory results with certain cards in certain machines. Just start with what came with it to at least have a referance point and work your way up over time. What works well for one may not be good at all for another.

I know, there is no easy answer.
I was just wondering if there is any reason to run the new FX drivers on this old of a card.
I was planning on using the 'newest' pre-FX driver, unless someone can offer me a reason not to.

My experience showed that the FX drivers ane not good on most older cards. It seems they do more harm than good. Try from the 41.xx to the last non-FX drivers. That should narrow it down a little.
