Help needed for randomly freezing.

edited May 2005 in Hardware
More often than not, my computer freezes at some point before Windows loads completely; sometimes even before POST. Sometimes it does load Windows completely but then there's about a 80% chance that it will freeze within the next five minutes. If I make it through those five minutes, it usually works fine. I'm not sure what's causing the problem, but I'm almost positive it's a hardware problem. I'm also pretty sure that it started when I tried to install a new video card, got an assload of problems, gave up, and went back to my old video card. It might not have anything to do with that because it started freezing like this a few months after I tried to install the new video card. I hope someone here can tell me the problem and how to fix it. Thanks.
