System boots to WIN2K then shuts down during login

edited May 2005 in Hardware
Here is an odd one. I have an old PCChips PC100 Via GRA M585LMR motherboard. Just re-flashed the BIOS. System booted no problem. Gets to W2K logon screen, and when I login under the same old profile, it says the profile does not exist and is going to log in to the default profile. I click OK, the Windows startup WAV file plays, then the system reboots. I reverse flashed the old bios and same problem. Re-flashed to the new one again and cleared the BIOS. Found my hard drives OK and booted fine. System does not shut down until I try to log in. Voltages look good (I think) and I have started taking devices out. I have 2 drives, Floppy, CD-burner, USB PCI card (old system), and just installed a Common Access Card (CAC) reader that is powered through the keyboard. This worked before I did the BIOS update.
Ideas (other than get a new system)?
