I have just spent 3 wks rebuilding and now i figure another 2-3 to install software and updates....

My question is now that i have upgraded to a DVDRW isnt there a way for me in case of another catastrophy...be able to just burn an image of a drive to another if i have it on a DVD....I now have the drive but how do i do this?

Norton Ghost, or perhaps a disk that came with your DVDRW. My LiteOn came with a backup utility(Nero's I think) I think I might give a try with just to see how good it might be.

Haven't done it for a while but, You'll want to make an image of your system on CD. So, Use your CD recordable for this operation. Secondly, You can try it with what ever software came with your Plextor CDR. If you look on the CD it will have something pertaining to making an image of the drive. The software I used and worked well was PowerQuest Drive Image. Only problem is Norton Ghost bought them out and from what I've heard it has lots of glitches and problems now. So, I wouldn't reccomend Norton Ghost 9, which is what it's called now. I'll check around to find out what the sniznit of image software is nowdays and post back for you. If you find something before that, let us know what you used and how you liked it--user friendly or not, etc.

Your never on anymore...i hit a snag w/ the new rig...so look me up if you got some time...

I talked to a buddy ...he has a DVD that he uses that installs xp...and all his software in a couple of hours....just puts it in and wa-la....gonna have him show me how...that is awsome...let you know when i know...
