Does any one know what OS and such Sun micro computers runs on? linux, unix? Are they any good?

There is a 4-5 year old Sun Micro PC just sitting at work, that nobody uses or wants, it was left here by a contractor years ago. Thought about messin with it. Worth it?

Suns natively run Solaris, but you can also run linux on them. Generally they have UltraSPARC processors in them, but I would need to know your model number to tell you for sure.

They are great computers. Kinda proprietary, and almost certainly "purpose-built", but good machines. If you've never used unix before, I would definitely go the Linux-on-sparc route because solaris is an ARCHAIC operating system. Even the modern ones.
