5 years sounds better, but it would be nice to know more about them.

I went to the store to buy a Maxtor drive that was on sale from $100 down to $50 for a 100gig w/8meg buffer. I'd only have to put out the $50. Problem is, the sale doesnt start till tomarrow, Sunday. I noticed a Seagate 120gig origainlly costing $100 (I think) witha $60 rebate. But here I have to put out $100. I HATE REBATES..................this is at Best Buy by the way

Maxtors site says no warrenty extensions available on the 1 year they give you. Seagates is 5 years AND, heres what I like the best, should the drive fail for some reason, Seagate has service that you can ship them the drive and if they can retreave data off of it and put it on the media of your choice (e cdrom, dvd). Of course theres a fee, but its nice to know they offer it
