How to manualy reset...

edited August 2005 in Community
restore date on windown XP. I had to shut down the restore feature to install "Bullguard". I got rid of the viruses but now at start up the mouse quivers between pointer and hour glass (wait). I downloaded new 5.2 drivers for Intellipoint Optical, but that didn't work. I read all the help topics on "manual resetting restore date", but it will only allow me to use todays date. That's stupid!!. Why would you want to restore to today with the same problems? I always relied on restore to fix any problems with settings. They are gone now. Damn!! Anybody know how to get Microsoft, or windows XP to allow a past restore date that worked well? Thanks for your help in advance!! Pete K. p.klein@snet.net

When you shut down restore it blows away all your restore points. So when you start it again it makes a new restore point so that's why you can only go back a day.
