Can anyone help me with fonts?

edited September 2005 in Science & Tech
I have downloaded some Cyrillic fonts (which are also containing an English alphabet) and shift them in to the fonts folder in Control panel. But I have problem with some of them. When I write text in English in Microsoft Word, the fonts are ok, but when I change language in to the Russian on the language bar, Cyrillic letters appear, but Times New Roman type. When I try to change font once again, they are not responding. The only possible way to write Cyrillic text with those fonts I prefer is to go to the “Insert symbol” and from there choose letter by letter. Of course, I don’t do that. Can anyone help me…

The only thing I can suggest is that the Cyrillic fonts only contain english characters (your standard alphabet) so when you are switching to russian and the extra characters the fonts screw up and anything missing defaults back to Times New Roman. Most likely the only way to fix that would be to find a Cyrillic font set with mappings to Russian.

This however is all strictly a guess.
