Gigafast something or another router. Love it to death. (UPNP support)
Gaim (Windows port) love it to death. (UPNP Compliant.)
Can't send a DAMN THING over the AIM protocol, and MSN acts like I'm behind a firewall. I run a static network, and DMZ is enabled on my IP. (192.168.1.2) I've told the router to open the ports on flag, they supposedly work. I tell bit-torrent ports that I didn't open manually, it opens them no problem. I hate MSN and AIM by themselves, trillian's about as secure as a straw shit house, and miranda won't work for me. Anyone know how to help me?

Have you tried hooking up your computer to the modem directly instead of throught the router to see where the problem is? Also are you running service pack 2 or norton firewall, Zonelabs anything like that? They all have port blocking in them also and can be causing the problem.

Also just do a hard resset on the router and set it back to default settings. It should then use standard PNP port filtering and all your IM's should work fine. Bitttorrent should also not give you any problems though until you it's ports in for it (forgot off the top of my head) it will be slower.

No, No software firewalls are in place. I forgot to mention this, but I run a static network. It's just gaim being affected. The real AIM has no problem.

Ok what problems are you actually getting with Gaim and Mirranda? I'm running a static network at home also and have no problems with messaging. Are they just not connecting or do they constantly drop connections?

I still say do a resset on your router and rebuild your set-up.

Ok, here's a good way to explain it.
I'll start sending a file in gaim, and it'll keep a decent speed, then after about 45 seconds, it drops into burst, like I'm behind a firewall.

    Miranda just isn't working.

I've never been able to send files in anything other then the actual protocol. I've never had luck transfering files between miranda and miranda mirand and gaim trillian and anything etc.... That goes for the people I've also tried to do the transfers with they just don't seem to work. If you are sending messages fine then that's about all your probably going to get out of it.

Figures, Tch. Means I have to hack up gaim, again.
(Hacked up Gaim 1.2.1 because of the MSN7 shit.)
