hi,
can someone recommend a durable motherboard with can allow me to connect more than 4 HHds ?

    Most modern MoBo's will attach 4 HDD's easily, especially if you don't want them all on the same connection format (say, 2 SATA and 2 PATA). Although this is usually through a RAID controller.

    Note that this DOESN'T mean the disks must be RAIDed, you can just plug them all in and go with it.

    if you are going for socket 478 get the asus p4c800 e deluxe.
    4hdds on sata and another 4 on ata.

    mine is P4 2.4B GHz CPU. Is this socket 478 ?

    I don't dabble with Intel too much, but I've learned to put a lot of faith in MSI and Asus mainboards. Don't trust ECS. Ever.

    for intel chipsets, id vote for asus.
