Wrong RAM?

edited December 2005 in Hardware
My MoBo is a K7VM2 R3.0 with a VIA KM266 chipset. The jumper is set to 266 not 200.

The RAM fitted is Kingston PC2700 333MHz; obviously the wrong speed.
Should it be the PC2100 266MHz RAM?

Could this make the system unstable?

Thanks

Normally RAM will downgrade and not cause any problems. However that's not always the case and unfortunately you can usually only trouble shoot the problem by trial and error.

But a good first start is to run memtest and see if you are getting errors. If memtest finishes full 100% with no errors then you should be fine.
