...what's good?

I'm looking into buying a notebook in the next 3 weeks. I want something that is somewhat good at gaming and is 64 bit capable. Battery life isn't an issue. Oh and most importantly my price cap is $1500!!! I was looking at one that had an x1600 in it. It's been a while since I've kept up with this stuff soooo are the x1600 ok gaming chips? (Doom3 engine games and possible the next Unreal engine)

So do you guys have any suggestions?

Yeah, but my lap top vs my friends Turion 64 x2 lap top... my lap top beat him in most areas (gameplay wise) except for Serious Sam 2, but I dont play that game that much (or nearly at all, I just seen a torrent of it for dl =D). But for BF2 / WoW / SoF 2 my lap top held its own (BF2 I had more FPS than his).

If you do a search on Turion 64 x2 vs Yonah you get basically the same results from most sites (PC World has one, CNet has a couple) but this was the only place I could find graphical test results.
