Uhhh, any ideas how this can be fixed?

boot into safe mode and make sure that you have a /home/zuntar/desktop folder.
If you don't then do mkdir /home/zuntar/Desktop
now remember that linux is caps specific. so /home/Zuntar/desktop is different from /home/zuntar/Desktop etc....
If the folder does exist make sure you've still got the correct permissions on it.
do an ln -s to see the permissions.
