Let me clarify...

With the Student/Home version (formely the student/Teacher)

Anyone know what happens to your old outlook?...like if I took my 03 and upgraded to 07...would my 03 outlook still run? Or will it be deleted w/ the upgrade?...since the new version doesnt come w/ Outlook...(the S/H version)

Thx

Bud

Your old outlook will stay intact - however don't install any of the 2007 trial versions of outlook it'll screw up your old outlook completely.

Not planning to....this was a work question...

The new home user doesnt have outlook and my boss called w/ the question of what will happen to his outlook if he upgrades to 07...

Finally talked him into just upgrading to 03 w/ a free 07 viewer....w/ pricing...

He is running 00 now...so anyway...

    Personally...my wife is a teacher so I get 07 for only $100....loaded....lol...man i love that women...lol

This is why I hate Microsoft they are so greedy for money. And from what people say about Windows XP or vista any office has to be legal copy and be register online. And only one copy for each computer.

You can not have office 2007 than say no I want to remove office 2007 and go back to office 2000 .Well even if you uninstall it there still parts in the windows registry.

Outlook is overrated anyway. Outlook express is free.

There are other alternatives to Outlook as well if you need it's scheduling and tasks systems. However in most work environments you are either using Outlook or Lotus Notes.

If you have Office 2000 installed and then upgrade to the trial of 2007 then remove the 2007 trial you have to re-install office 2000 again for things to get back to some semblance of normality. Furthermore in most cased your outlook pst file will be unrecoverable and you have to start from scratch again.

didnt think i PM'ed you ...sry if i did....

Its not true...you do have to register but as long as the copy is still registered to you there is no worries....ie the LT is mine and when I registered it again...all went through fine.....

Just a guess here...but whos to say that an IT couldnt do it but maybe there is a trigger pending how many times you do it or something....never had more than 2 machines going that used regualarly...just a DT and a LT....

    Again sry if I PM'ed you...did it on accident if i did...LOL

I'm new to this forum - have just bought a new computer w/Vista home premium on it. Am trying to get it set up. Was trying to install my Office XP (because with all the $s I'm out of pocket for the new machine, I didn't want to buy new Office too) and have been having all sorts of problems. I've learned that there's apparently a trial version of Office 2007 that's imbedded with the Vista and I've tried to uninstall it with the Vista equivalent of Add/Remove Programs (control panel), but could only get partially rid of it. Then I went to program files and removed everything that looked like Office 2007. In spite of all that, when I tried to launch Outlook (XP), it repeatedly tried to convert to Outlook 2007. It did so once. I wound up going back to the restore point that had been set when I got the computer from the builder.

How do I completely get rid of Office 2007? Do I have to completely install it using the activation helper then uninstall it?

Help please or perhaps point me toward someone who may know how. I'm not at all afraid to dig into the registry to resolve my problem - I just don't know where to dig!

These are geared more about removing the office 2007 beta but should do the trick for you.
