Ethernet port not working?

Ok boys and girls....ladys and gents
My bother in law came over and decided to hook his 360 up using my DT's Ecord....
Now it doesnt seem to work!....the light is on on the back of the pc where the Ecord is plugged in but no blinking foing on...there is stuff coming through the line to the router at least the lights look like it....
So now what? He said he unplugged it from the pc w/ everything on..dont know if that would have done something...HELP!!!!!!!

Duh...forgot the onboard port went out and I had installed a Card...LOL...had to plug it into the card...LOL..
