I need a tool to recover erased boot.ini file on my laptop. I can't boot it now so what tool can boot and restore file?

You need to reboot with your windows cd and do a repair install.

I recommend active@ Undelete utility. This is just as you wish, it has a bootable disk that can be used to startup and then the tool will recover files
