nLite files waiting to be written popup

edited April 2007 in Science & Tech
Hi Everyone,
Let me start from the beginning, I installed nLite to back up my Presario S4210NX from Compaq, and thats when the trouble began. I have all the prerequisites for the proper operation of nLite with the possible exception of certified recovery disks from the manufacturer. .NET 2.0 is installed and updated. Windows xp SP1 was fresh as of 1 week prior to nLite problem, plus updated drivers too. Oh and I created the recovery disks after I was instructed to by the manufacturer (6 total copies).

To the problem at hand, I needed to copy files from the disks, as advised by one guide, to a special folder. I used the (hold)control and click on files to get as many as I could at a time, then copy and paste in the destination folder. All was well until I received a message that I had files waiting to be written to the CD? :eyebrow: Ignored to message as possible glitch? I proceeded to check if nLite would start, but no way. I got error messages to the likes of could not find (SYSSETUP file?) and files are not quite right for some reason. The message of files waiting to be written to CD keeps popping up every time I startup PC and I do not want to copy files at all to my recovery disks, which may already be damaged by the process?? So I am realizing somethings wrong and I need help at this point so I am stopping to ask for help "HELP" "HELP":o

Here are my questions:
1. How do I get the "you have files waiting to be written to the CD" message from displaying at every boot?
2. How do I get nLite to work on my machine or will it work?
3. Do I need to order a official recovery disk from the Manufacturer? Or get SP2 official disk and cross my fingers that it will work with the drivers installed after SP2 (instead of before like with SP1)
4. Will nLite work with SP2 on a more up to date machine?(my other personal build)

Nlite is meant to copy an OS from it's original CD.

1:To remove the "Files waiting to be written to disc, click the bubble, then delete the frickin' files.
2: Stick your OS CD in the drive, tell Nlite that it's there, and it does the rest.
3: You need a real OS cd. Not a recovery disc.
4: It's a frickin' OS-Prep tool. Nlite will work on a toaster if it's got NetBSD on it.
5: SP2's been out for a year now. And it's a good idea to grab the .NET framework 3.0

Hi Amish Daddy, So if try the xp home SP1 recovery disc from the manufacturer there is now way it will work cause its a recovery disk right?
Next, the real answer is to maybe buy a official Win xp SP1 or win xp SP2 disk is this correct? Update my machines to .NET framework 3.0 as well. Where would I search for a official XP SP1 disc now? Thanks for all your help by the way. Other forums would take like two to three days to answer my questions. Live long and Prosper:rock:
