Plagued by rumors, an AMD spokesperson has reiterated that the highly-anticipated Barcelona will hit the market on time this summer. The rumors stem from a comment by Cray saying one of their new supercomputers would be delayed by AMD production issues.

I'm sorry, but this whole Barcelona business smacks of a lot of crappy heresay and press desperate for the "exclusive".
AMD went to Tapei to demonstrate on servers and professional boards (Tyans, Supermicros, etc) which are NOT mainstream and I've seen (or can find) precious little as to how THAT went.
Instead I get this and the Cinebench story. My impression of the Cinebench deal: It looks like someone snuck in and stole an unauthorized Cinebench test (it seems they were then caught and chased off). They had no screenshots or whatever to prove what they found. This sounds like hi tech yellow press with more hype than info.
I'm NOT a fan of AMD and think the Barcelona is CPU-wise but cache-short to be able to pwn Intel in many benchmarks and Penryn is going to be cache-rich (12MB for the quad) and will definitely make it interesting for AMD. But we have YET to really see and AMD seems to be taking a beating for it.
Thrax & Keebs- Kudos on keeping us up on this and it's too bad (not your fault) we're not seeing "the rest of the story". Hope we see it soon.
