Vista Ultimate Shuts down after Install

Hi,

Need some help. I have been trying to install Vista Ultimate onmy system, and it goes throught the whole install process, and then on what I believe is the last re-boot before windows actually starts, it just shuts down the power to the system and I can't re-start the unit untill I unplug the cord from the power supply for about a minute, then when I re-plug it, it powers up just to shut off again as windows is about to start. I have tried removing peripherals specially the X-Fi card since i read it has some problems, but it keeps doing the same.

I have tried installing it as an upgrade from XP and also from scratch, with exactly the same result.

I know this is very likely hardware related and not the OS, but since the Beta vesion worked before...

Just wondering is anyone had similar experience or any suggestions.

Sytem Specs:
MSI K8N Master2 FAR
Dual Opteron 252s
Nvidia 8800 GTS
XFi extreme gammer
dual SATA drives (main drive is on a removable craddle)
2 Gig memory

I works great on XP, and had before installed a beta version of XP that worked also.

Thanks

You might try disabling SMART in your BIOS. Maybe the Power Management if it is set. The issue may be there.
