I recently deleted a partition from my Seagate SATA II hard drive then used Gparted to merge the unallocated GB to my main (C) drive, now on start up I always get an error message that says "An invalid argument was encountered".

Other than this error message, everything else is fine, could anyone please help and let me know what this error may be and how I could possibly fix it?

2 immediate possibilities come to mind.

    1) It's looking for the other partition in your boot.ini
    2) You've got some program that's looking for something that was installed on that old partition.

Cheers for the reply, I got it fixed by removing and disabling acer's eRAgent. Removed the file then disabled it in msconfig startup. Apparently part of that program will only run on fat32 not NTFS.

Fixed now anyway, cheers. Freed up a heap of system memory by removing this too....;)
