Newer drivers, same ol' story for the once-fabled R600. Brought woefully into the world with tattered banners, a dreary crowd and off-key fanfare, a recent driver update has failed to deliver the performance crown that AMD promised for its offspring.

The 8800GTS in both the 320MB and 640MB varieties continues to surpass the card in any game engine using any graphics language. With up to a $100 higher price tag and a complete disregard to energy efficiency, it's all dead roses for the chaps in green.

AMD is green, right? ...and ATi is red......

Maybe the the DAAMiT logo should be a Chirstmas tree!!!!!

As for the card - isn't this about the same predicament nVidia was in a few years ago with their 5900 series? (???? I think)

While nVidia recovered from its 59xx fiasco, I'm a little worried about ATi/AMD.

AMD is reeling from the success of Intel's dual & quard core procs, and is losing market share aka $$$$ because of this boon for Intel....

..At the same time ATi is failing to produce a card that can at least match the perfomance numbers of nVidia's top of the line cards... ..and in losing market share, aka, MORE $$$ to nVidia...

I'm wondering if AMD/ATi can recover from being pummeled on two fronts like this......

Psst. Who is financially responsible for ATi now?
