Hi, I have recently started experiencing a warning about security threats.
I am running CA Security Center but it has not detected this threat.
The program is Ultimate Fixer which keeps popping-up asking me to install and check my system.
Does anyone have experience on removing this pest?

Normally I wouldn't recommend an uninstaller from the makers of such a rogue program but, in this case, it may work.

    Go to this file ...

    C:\Program Files\Ultimate Fixer\Uninstall.exe

    ....and run the Uninstaller.

Hopefully the program will be gone.

Next download and run RogueRemover from here ....

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php

    >>> When done post a HJT log** with an update on how the computer is working now.

**If you don't know how to do the HJT log follow this procedure ....

download a self-extracting copy of HijackThis from here …….

    http://downloads.malwareremoval.com/hijackthis_sfx.exe

    Save it to your Desktop.

Double-click on the file hijackthis_sfx.exe file and it will self-extract into its own folder ……

    C:\Program Files\HijackThis

Go to this folder and run the hijackthis.exe file.

From the menu click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile".

Copy and paste the HJT logfile to this thread. More specific removal instructions will follow for any remaining malware revealed.

Yes, exactly. I saw that. Hence my remark to almac01 to stick to the one thread (i.e. yours!) :D
