Sims 2: Hell edition

edited July 2007 in Gaming
Whenever i try to load Sims 2, the splash comes up, dissapears, and the it says its encountered a problem and needs to close. Ive tried re-installing Sims 2 and updating my drivers and directx but still nothing. Its happened before. Last time i had to format my PC (also because it had some other problems) and it worked for a while. I havent played the game since and now its messed up again. Help anyone?

if you have any anti-virus/spyware software make sure you disable it before installing. Also check the EA Website for patches and updates and install those aswell.

Man when I saw the title, I thought they had made a new sims expansion. You tease....

Also what you might want to do is right click the game loader, and select "run as admin". Another thing would be to make sure that your computer has the requirements of the game (i know it sounds dumb, but the sims 2 has higher spec requirements than the last one). And if none of that works, uninstall the game automatically, then delete any and all sims2 or eagames folders in your hard drive/program files directory. Then check the disks for any scratches that might hide a bit of data, and refinish if necessary. Then reinstall. If that doesn't work.. Fudge 'em.

The problem is simple: you are playing the Sims and its evil spawn. Stop now before your soul is consumed and I am forced to slay you for the traitor to gaming that you are.
