While Microsoft and Falling Leaf Studios have touted Shadowrun as one of the first Vista-only games, the busy beavers in far-off (And distinctly piratey) places have been working hard. In spite of claims by Shadowrun's developer that getting the game to work on XP was a challenge and requires a special project, said busy beavers have released a wee patch that gets the game to run on XP with all the bells and whistles.

Oops.

ZOMG! I dunno if I can play Shadowrun since I like the pen & paper version so much, but it's cool that the option now exists.

The Shadowrun XP crack definitely works and works very well, graphics are good. It's still just another twitchy FPS but for what it is it's a descent enough game. If you get it out of your head that this *could* have been an amazing Shadowrun MMO and IS just an FPS that is called Shadowrun it's fun, for awhile. But I definitely wouldn't recommend buying it until you've tried it through whatever means you need to go through.
