Within days of releasing DRM-free music to the iTunes music service, it was revealed that the MP3s are tagged with information identifying the buyer of the tracks. If Jim-Bob Ragamuffin downloaded a DRM-free track, his name would appear in the file's information, amongst other things. This rose hackles across the privacy community who are opposed to the dissemination of private information, even if such files are being used in accordance with the EULA.
