Nintendo wants new original content from budding game designers. With yesterday's WiiWare announcment, they'll likely get just that.

Specific details on the actual WiiWare kit haven't been released yet, but in an interview with Newsweek, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime said Nintendo will sell WiiWare games through the Wii Shop Channel. Ratings will be the developer's responsibility. Pricing and final bug testing will be handled by Nintendo.

Unlike many of the virtual console games currently being sold, the WiiWare games will let developers make use of the system's motion control Wiimote and Nunchuck controllers.
