gmail hacking
astromuffy
over there
Hi all,
As of today, my gmail account no longer recognised my password - eventhough it remembers it.
Instead of going directly to gmail access like I usually do, I was taken to gmail home page where I was asked for my user name.
After typing it in, my password automtically appeared in it's proper field like so:
************ - except nowadays they use those black circles.
Anyway, it remember my password, but when I submitted the forum, I was told my user name and password didn't match.
I checked about thirty times.
I jumped through numerous hoops, numerous times, and nothing.
Finally, I thought I had found a forum where I could explain my specific complaint to tech support - but it was just a red herring.
I got an auto response that sent me back on the same merrigoround.
Is it possible my gmail has been broken into by a third party?
I have not given my password or account info to anyone.
Secondly, if someone has broken in, is there any way of tracing them?
Online life is becoming very threatening and very scary.
I really appreciate any advice you can offer.
Thank you.

luckily it's a holiday here in canada, so hopefully no damage has been done.
A good place to start...http://icrontic.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=57
thanks again!
Was your password something simple such as a dictionary word or a string of numbers?
They even offer to assist you in reporting abuse, and when you follow those links, no report is generated - you just end up being forced to write a generic email, that gets an auto response.
Hope I didnt' garble this too much, and thanks again for your responses.
