Outlook Express email sending issue

I have checked and rechecked settings and for the life of me, I cannot sort out this issue. As the title says, I am using Outlook Express, so is my wife. However, she does not receive any of my newly composed emails, but I can go to my "Sent" folder, click on "Forward" and resend, by means of forwarding, the exact same mail that she didn't receive in the first place and she gets in almost immediately. "Forwards" go; "Sends" do not (to her anyway). Anyone have any suggestions on how to set this right? We have our own internal LAN and are registered with the same ISP/mail provider.

Are you using any sort of 3rd party spam filtering? That could be blocking it.

Thanks for the thought! You may be on to something. No, I am not, but my ISP is. I thought about that last night and wondered if their spam filter might be knocking out some of my emails. When I get shot down is when I send hyperlinks. Maybe it is their spam blocker.

blocking hyperlinks isn't uncommon, especially if that is the bulk of the email. Do you have a way of going in to see what messages are being blocked?

Did some testing this afternoon. If I send her a text-based email, it goes through without a hitch. If I send her a hyperlink-based email with little or no text, it does not. The ISP has a spam blocker of some sort but they also send a "quarantine report" when they intercept a suspicious email to let you know they have stopped it on their end letting us go to the mail server, check the msg being held and choose to delete or accept it per our preference. However, she has not received any "quarantine reports" about any hyperlink emails I've sent to her; they just seem to disappear. At this point, it seems clear the ISP is auto-deleting my hyperlink emails with their software blocking utilities and without giving notification. I don't see any other explanation. Other than checking the "quarantine report" from the mail server, I have no way to check on what's happening on their end and the quarantine reports are simply not coming in relative to my sent but lost emails. Curious.

Under the assumption that this is an e-mail provided by an ISP...

...this is why I dislike using an e-mail address provided by my ISP. Might I suggest moving to gmail? You get POP and SMTP so you can use Outlook Express. It's also got a decent GUI interface.

(If no one minds the plug, you can read my ISP/email rant at my blog.)

Not at all BluKnight ;) I recommend Gmail too.

I once encountered an issue with an Express inbox being corrupted, but that killed just about all incoming messages, not selectively. Still, you might think about backing up her e-mail and then deleting the "inbox" files (Express will recreate them automatically) just to see if that does anything? (I'm totally shooting in the dark). I'm going to be lazy atm and leave you to Google that one on your own if you want to try it, heh. Just a thought.
