Excessively slow XP
Hello all, I've got quite the issue with my girlfriend's compaq laptop. She got it for Christmas '06, and it's already slower than slow. MP3's skip in WMP, there are many many many popups in IE (although, after spending hours scanning and fixing things with AVG and AdAware, it's a bit better). At first, it was impossible to get to the Registry Editor, HJT would exit within seconds after opening it, webpages discussing virus scanning would close as well. These issues have been fixed somehow, but it's still slow... I'll post the latest HTF log with this post. If you need the Kapersky log, just tell me what you need from it.

As we work together to resolve your problem please read the instructions carefully. You may wish to print them off or copy them into Notepad.

Open HostsXpert that you earlier unzipped on your desktop
- Click "Make Hosts Writable?" upper right corner (if available)
- Click "Restore Microsoft's Original Hosts File" and then click OK
- Close HostsXpert
Note; IF you used any custom Hosts (eg. MVPS Hosts), you will have put them back manually===========
Download and Run ComboFix
- Download this file from either of the two below listed places :
- Then double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
- When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply
