Help With Nero 7 Burned DVD's

edited July 2007 in Science & Tech
Okay so whenever I burn DVD's such as my scary movies, when I play like night scenes or cave scenes I can see it fine on this computer. But after I burn it (with normal settings of course) and play it into any of my TV's, the brightness decreases a lot and those night or cave scenes look like a black screen! I can't see nothing after I burn it..I was just wondering what the problem is? Hopefully there is a program I can download or a setting to change while burning because it plays fine on my pc but once it's on a disk it is very dark. Thanks!

Check your options in NERO and instead of having everything set to auto force it to do 4x3 or 16x9 and there is another setting as well for the type of filter it's using, I can't remember what it is off the top of my head though.

Are you using Nero to create the DVD Movie, or just using Nero to burn the ISO of the movie created in another program (like DVD Shrink)?

I know DVD shrink has filters (vivid, smooth, etc) that could change the output. Don't know that any of them would modify the brightness enough to notice that much of a change. It sounds to me like you need to do some setup on the non-PC playback devices. Very few things out of the box are optimized properly and often need extensive setup using various tools. There's a lot of home theater setup DVDs, that offer visual tests to set the contrast and color balance. Most PC monitors (especially LCDs) and computer software (like powerdvd) tend to playback DVD movies a tad brighter than normal televisions/home theaters. This has everything to do with the limitations and default settings of the devices and nothing to do with the DVD movie's themselves.
