DIrectx 9.0c Problem

I need to update my directx from 9.0b to the latest. I have downloaded the 2007 redist june pack i extracted to a temp folder and then ran the installer. The installer ran and finished in less than a second and it said finished. I checked dxdiag and it still said version 9.0b.... OMFG.... I then uninstalled directx and rollbacked to version 8.1 and i tried to update again but to no avail... someone please help desperately... i can'y play any games...

Get that, then download the june 2007 redist.

ahhhh i installed it and after i go to windiag it says directx 9.0b not c although the version number changed from 4.09.0000.0902 to 4.09.0000.0903
