Another attempt to Googlize
It appears that Google is at it again folks. There is a major auction that will take place of the wireless spectrum airwaves hosted by the Federal Communications Commission. Google wants the 700-megahertz band of airwaves and plans to resell access to the airwaves to competitors on a wholesale basis. Their plan is set so that "When Americans can use the software and handsets of their choice, over open and competitive networks, they win," says Google's Chief Executive Eric Schmidt.
AT&T and Verizon Communications don't appear to be all that excited about Google's involvement in the valuable air waves, but then again most players in the business community don't like it when outsiders step on their playing field.
