Overdownload!

When using a torrent client sometimes I have noticed a discrepancy with the amount downloaded in ratio to the actual file size - ex. 120.9 MB of 80.5 MB and it is only 30 percent done! Is this because of hash conflicts - and I am just seeing the total plus re-downloads. When the torrent is finished it reverts to 80.5 MB of 80.5 MB.
Or is there some way extra files are being diverted and hidden on my computer?
My free space does not seem all to different.

Yeah it has to do with many things IIRC such as shutting the client down in the middle of downloading a piece of the file, and many other problems. At least yours works, my BT client barely does anything anymore, looks like TimeWarner killed my ability to use BT.

Thanks! Yeah they are getting pretty fed up with torrenters - some things I have read about, shady attacks from those that shall remain unnamed designed to cripple torrent users machines (disabling media players - disabling internet connections - disabling CD burners etc...)

Gonna have to go home and look, but it's random... it wasn't working before I did a complete format and reinstall of windows(had some driver and software tests I did before hand I didn't like), and is doing the same thing afterwards as well on default settings even. Using Azureus which every time I install is setup on a different port... and I had no router, was plugged directly to modem(just got a new router last night though). I also recall trying to trun off the comodo firewall which didn't help.

When I first start up BT it works just fine, but after maybe 5 minutes everything STOPS. Been using Azureus for over a year no problems.

Most US ISPs throttle the most common BT ports these days. I strongly suggest switching whatever BT client you use to run on 62005-62010.

Will do. I'll report back my findings when I get home in a few hours...
