Panasonic Mini DV Prob?
Hey, If you're reading this thanks for the caring. Anyways on to my problems.
I recently bought a used Panasonic Palmcorder mini dv camera, but primarily used in the fact that someone had owned it before me, not that they had used it much. They had lost the installation software included. I still went through the trouble of buying a combo usb 2.0, firewire card and successfully installing it in my pc. But I can't seem to get a transfer from the cam to the pc. The camera gets recognized when I hook it up immediately, but all I've been able to get on any capture programs is a black screen. They manage to start and stop playback on the cam, but nothing gets actually captured. I got "cannot render video preview stream" or something like that, messages a few times. I believe it might have displayed a picture for a while the first times I got it, but I might be delusional, I do know that I sometimes get a few frames from it while it's hooked up in record mode from time to time, but then again I sometimes get red and green blotches of pixels on a black backdrop sometimes too.
Well that's really all that I can tell ya. Any suggestions on how I can remedy this problem? I'm aching to get my crappy no budget kung-fu flick edited.

Try downloading and installing the K-Lite Codec Pack.
Edit: Thought you might of had it there. but Nope No difference. But, it did make me remember that It displays a "Video device not responding" message when trying to capture now.
