Track a Dynamic IP?

OK so I have a NAS server here at home acting as FTP, Multimedia, Web, and other things... I wanna be able to log into it remotely but my home IP changes from time to time.

I recall there being a program you can run like no-ip.com but that goes on the PC right? This NAS server isn't a PC and I don't think I can install it like that, plus I don't like to run my computer 24/7...

any ideas?

Doesn't it get a local IP from your router? DynDNS and no-ip both go from your router's WAN IP, which means the address of the NAS doesn't matter?

I know that. Your NAS server, if it has web administration, should be accessible via WAN.IP.ADD.RESS:PORT. Therefore, running a no-ip client on any of your computers will keep your WAN IP updated with them, so you can type rangerloki.no-ip.com:NASPORT and you're in.

The problem being I don't want to leave an extra computer running... was kinda hoping there was another way, if not then oh well at least I asked. :p

Some new routers have a setting that you can actually put in a dyndns host (or a few others) and the router will automatically update it without having to have another computer do it.

For sure the newer linksys routers are doing this and worse/best case get a Linksys WRT54GL and put Tomato or DD-WRT and it'll do it no problems.
