Change the DNS servers in your router to:

    4.2.2.1
    4.2.2.2 and
    4.2.2.3

    Then see what happens.

Those are the DNS servers the United States uses at a national level to keep track of what domain names are assigned to what IP addresses. Many connectivity issues with local ISPs are a result of crappy DNS servers failing. These addresses make sure you're using some of the best servers on the planet; servers that are always up because the western hemisphere can't do without them.

o ok thank you. But this did not do to much, basically everytime someone logs into AOL the connection says it is there, but it cannot be repaired, nor does AIM or firefox work. any other tricks in your book? this might work though still nto positive.

    Try it without the router.

If it doesn't do it put dd-wrt on your router. If it still does it with dd-wrt on the router flash back the linksys firmware and rma it.
