boot disc of memtest86 not working!

edited July 2007 in Science & Tech
Ok, my boot order is correct in BIO's, my XP cd boots from disc. But i'm trying to trouble shoot my pc's problem by doing a memtest. I keep burning this iso of memtest86 3.3 and I tried the memtest86 1.7 to cd's and they just are not bootable.
I'm burning them with cloneCD, could this be my problem? I do own Nero, but am reluctant to install it as I have a BSoD problem going on, before and after a totally clean install of XP. And I just dont trust a large install at this time. Already did my HD tests.

Are you dragging and dropping the .ISO file into an open project? Or are you going to some variation on "Burn ISO," "Burn image," "Write CD Image" etc.?

I'm openning cloneCD, chosing the "write from imagefile", browsing to folder with memtest.iso. At this point I have to switch file type from "clonecd image file" to just "image", then it see's it. I click it, and hit next in cloneCD, and it finishes and opens drawer.
    Thanks for quick response :)
Also, i've since had no luck installing Nero, my backup copy is corrupt, and my copy I just DL'd says corrupt.

I always make sure. This is a really common issue; so common, even, that I'm writing an article on sure-fire burning of ISOs. :D
