G'day all
I hope someone can give me a hand. I had my system set up sweet until my ADSL modem borked itself and I bought a new one... so..

Modem = Netgear DM111P
Router = D-Link Dl-614+ (wireless + lan)
Account = Bigpond ADSL (Australia)

Tried & tried & tried but I can't get them to handshake... any ideas? Step by step if possible. I'll supply any more info you need...

Cheers

    First I'd try connecting your computer directly to the modem and seeing if you can get a connection. Then work the router into the picture. Your on ADSL so you won't be connecting through PPPoE just put in your IP's on a static network and it should be up and running.

    Modem works good. Excellent in fact. Just won't handshake with the router. I haven't tried setting the router static. Maybe that's the go. I assumed since the account was dynamic it all had to be. What's the case concerning this?

    Depends on how your ADSL account is setup. I've only dealt with ADSL from the business side so it's always been a case of having a block of IP's assigned. You set one to the router and that's about it really.
