An epoch in the age of man has passed since the legal wrangling in the European Union first began, however the European Commission has finally decided to investigate Intel for anti-competitive practises. Or rather, in typical fashion, it has begun to decide if it wishes to begin investigation. This procedure begins with a Statement of Objections, which enumerates the EU clauses violated and contains the preliminary allegations. From there, the SoO is shuffled along through bureaucracy and red tape; provided nothing dies in committee, it becomes a full-fledged investigation with legal ramifications.

AMD is aflutter with good will towards man and his wallet.
Intel is spurious of the claims, and promises that they've acted in everyone's best interest.

That is to say: The status quo is being observed.
