That's the stepping. What can I expect from this chip without doing any mods to it?

Boot it at 2.2 gig/1.65 volt and test. That's what most nice Barton 2500 does at least. And that cpu IS an old 2500 barton.

    To bad it's locked though.

It's locked! I need to get better ram for 166 FSB, so stock speeds it is for me I guess...... At least it's a 2GHz CPU and not a 1.4 or something like that!

Ah well, it's not that big of a deal to me. I needed a new CPU for around 75 bucks anyway. 2GHz CPU for 75, I could have done worse. I had to replace my 1900 because it was running to hot. Yes, even with a real HS/F it was too hot... I'll just run aggrasive RAM timings like always. That will be good for me.

My 1900 was the second worst CPU I ever had for heat. The only one worse was my 1.4 T'Bird.

The sad thing is, that the CPU ran at no less then 57*C since the day it was installed. A friend of mine has a 1400 that does the same thing. Worthless core! Lag Packet has a 1900 that runs perfectly fine tho, that's something I never understood!
