Pirate party seeks ballot recognition

Digital copyright infringement is becoming a more important political issue as the tug-of-war between publishers and media 'pirates' becomes more public, and more a part of people's everyday lives.
Enter the Pirate Party.
This political party does not condone media piracy, but they have made digital rights issues central to their platform. If they get enough signatures, they can appear on the Utah ballot with a party-backed candidate. Without them, their candidates will have to be listed as independent.
Most narrow issue political parties don't amount to much at the polls. Perhaps this is an issue that is important to enough people that it just might win a few offices...
or maybe it's just an important issue to me...
edit: Sorry for second post of the same story.
