I have used a few programs over the last few years but have rarely gotten into them enough to know what the best one is. So what I am looking for is a financial software program that will link to bank accounts and keep track of sales and spending etc… Along with being able to calc taxes etc... Any suggestions of good program would be much appreciated...

I have used QuickBooks, MS Money, and Quicken in the past... but not sure what one is good for me.

Quickbooks is what I've used for years, and most of my clients and associates use it as well. There are those who are in the "peachtree" camp, but they're just dumb.

Quickbooks... buy an older version for less than $150. That's what I did. No sense in buying a $500 copy to try it out on a business that only generates $2000 in profit a year (I talking about me, no my projections for you, Mat. :D )

Careful with that though - if you want to use any of the intuit business services such as credit card processing (which I have used for years, and rocks), payroll (also used it for years), etc... You'll need a new version. For instance, they just dropped support for the '04 version and lower - you need '05 for cc processing, and '07 for payroll. Most of the time it's best just to get the latest version. And the improvements between '06 and '07 were MAJOR. I would start at '07 because future versions will be based on it (it is a very big departure, interface wise, etc. from all older versions).
