ArsTechnica has been fielding reports of WGA problems since last night. Anonymous sources within Microsoft have confirmed widespread problems with WGA. Ars is currently recommending avoiding pinging the WGA server in any way if you can.

    Dang, this sounds really bad- I suppose people doing reformats and new installs are SOL until it's fixed too.

    I think this also might be where some are going to discover the value of backing up.
