Outlook Express: 3 different issues at the same time
Hi, guys.
Yes, OE6, I know. But my wife and kid like it. Version is: 6.00.2900.2180
Well, I have (had?) 3 accounts on it. One for each of us.
Last night, my wife's inbox messages vanished, and there are around 100 new ones that simply do not download, there comes this message: "Unknown Error. Account: 'pop3.uol.com.br', Server: 'pop3.uol.com.br', Protocol: POP3, Door: 110, Safe (SSL): No, error number: 0x800C0133"
My account settings (with 3 different email addys on it, all forwarded to GMail) also vanished. Should reconfigure them to re-use. (I am thinking of not doing that...at all).
My son's settings are intact, and he uses same provider as we do, they are all sub-accounts, with different emails, of a main one.
So we get 3 different issues to cope with. Does anyone has suffered from similar bugs before? And so long ago, would you still remember what happened?
Many thanks in advance for the usual good tipping.
Mauro

I actually used Thunderbird to fix a customer's corrupt OE mailboxes by simply having her install thunderbird and letting it import outlook express automatically.
If you really want to try to fix outlook you can try deleting its application data and your identitys (It will erase your email and settings and probably won't fix your problem but its worth a shot if you really want to keep outlook.) If you want to go this route respond and I can post the procedure. (Although probably not till tomorrow as I have work soon).
thanks for the tips, I am moving to Thunderbird. It's time, and they will learn, or cope with empty mailboxes.
See ya!
A very good choice.
