According to Windows Vista Team Blog, Microsoft Vista's Service Pack 1 Beta will be released soon (next few weeks). Service Pack 1 will include a roll up all previously released patches and updates. In addition, SP1 will address reliability issues, performance issues, new hardware and drivers, and add support for new emerging technologies. For the IT Administrators, Service Pack 1 will also include some nice features like increased BitLocker Drive Encryption features, improved group policy management, and a better Network Diagnostic tool.

The service pack has already been released to a selected set of testers. It is unclear, at this time, if the Beta will be released to the general public.

A pre-release of the Service Pack 1 is slated to be released to MSDN and TechNet subscribers at a future date.

The actual release of Service Pack 1 is planned for the first quarter of 2008 and it is expected to be tied closely to Microsoft's Windows Server 2008 release.
