Hitting Facebook, MySpace, and many other popular "Web 2.0" sites that employ Yahoo's services, their most recent round of advertising came complete with a malware-infected banner rotation. The flash banner, served by Right Media, silently injected a payload in unpatched versions of Internet Explorer and was served more than twelve million times this summer.

While MySpace or PhotoBucket were the hardest hit, the ads also ran on TheSun.co.uk, Bebo.com and UltimateGuitar.com.

It goes without saying:
Patch
Switch

Problem solved.
