anything i should pay attention to beyond the contrast ratio, the response ms, and the brightness?

I just picked up this 24" Samsung 245BW from Sam's Club yesterday and I am absolutely loving it. It's quite a bit more than the 20" monitors you linked to but still not to highly priced. It has replaced a 4:3 19" Samsung LCD as my main monitor and it's height isn't much more than the 19" monitor. If you can afford it I would suggest that you go bigger than 20" widescreen for your monitor. BTW, Newegg also sells the monitor I bought but they are roughly $30 more expensive than Sam's Club was for my purchase.
