Gateway dx310s wont boot

One of my roomates has a gateway dx310s and he said it was running earlier in the day. Now when he powers it on the computer gets power to everything but has a continuous beeping noise. Also it does not display any signal to the monitor. Any ideas what could cause this error? Thank you for any help

    Reseat the RAM and the video card, if neither of those work, swap both.
