I only have about 700 songs, which is a lot for me. All of them have ID3 info which I DO NOT want. I can remove the data easily using ID3 Remover, so I did. Now there's no easy way to rename them so they're all [Artist - Title]. What can I do?

First a question. Why don't you want the ID3 tag info? That's the beauty of the MP3's the tag info makes sorting so much easier.

Now you have a few choices. 1st put ID3 tags back then you can mass add ID3 info to songs and then use a program like iTunes to manage your library for you and it'll create lovely indexes for you.

If you don't want to do that you could manually create a number of folders based on whatever criteria you want. You could then batch move your files into them, create more folders, more batch moves etc...

I just don't like all that info showing up in my media players. This problem can be fixed via settings in the players, but I don't want like 5 lines of info on my iPod when songs are playing, I'd rather just have 1 line. All I need to know is the artist and title, I don't really care what Album its from or anything.

The easiest way to name all the files in the manner you have described is to read proper ID3 tags, but since you removed them, you get to do it manually.

That's how I ended up doing it. It took me about an hour to rename about 700 files. I think it's good I did it manually, it helped me clean out songs that are taking up space but I never listen to anymore.
